Biography

Marion Germain obtained her Bachelor's degree in Classical Voice Interpretation from the University of Montreal under the tutelage of internationally renowned tenor Richard Margison. Marion has also been taking lessons with soprano Lyne Fortin since 2018. She completed her Master’s degree in the winter of 2024. Marion obtained the George Cédric-Ferguson scholarship in the Fall of 2021, 2022 and 2023 and is also the recipient of several prizes totaling $1,400 as part of the Concours de la Relève Musicale du Québec. In the Fall of 2022, she received the Louise Roy bursary ($4,000) and in the Fall of 2023 she obtained the Treiser grant ($5,000). As part of MOSF 2022, she performed the roles of Gilda in Rigoletto (Verdi) and Mimì in La Bohème (Puccini). In the Winter of 2023, Marion took on the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus by Strauss II at the University of Montreal. During the summer of 2023, Marion sang the role of Violetta Valéry in Verdi's La traviata and covered Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor (MOSF 2023). In February 2024, she sang the role of Die Königin der Nacht in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at University of Montreal.
